How does it work?

The Early Learning Washington County leadership team collaborate to launch a Pyramid Model framework in Washington County

  • Mission

    The Washington County Community Leadership Team (WCCLT) supports early childhood program inclusion by leveraging available resources to implement evidence-based practices that promote social-emotional practices for infants and young children

  • Vision

    WCCLT aims to expand access to high quality training, professional development, and coaching for early childhood educators in support of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), primarily utilizing The Pyramid Model framework in order to prevent suspension and expulsion in early childhood settings. Children will develop more intentional pro-social strategies in managing their emotions; families will experience empowered relationships with early childhood educators; and early childhood programs will see improved behavioral outcomes.

  • OVERARCHING GOALS

    • Expand access to online, on-demand and in person training and coaching person professional development opportunities for Early Childhood Educators to strengthen the practices of individual teachers or caregivers, classroom teams, and entire programs.
    • Increase family and early childhood educator engagement.
    • Educate elected officials, leaders, foundations, and private organizations on efforts to reduce rates of suspension and expulsion.

    Partners will leverage resources to invest in strategies to reduce suspension and expulsion.

  • Leadership Team

    The Washington County Community Leadership Team (WCCLT) provides support and resources to early learning educators and young children with the main purpose of implementing best practices of the Pyramid Model (PBIS) that can help reduce or eliminate suspension/ exclusion in classrooms.
