Next Generations Science Standards for Early Learning is an engaging class which will share exciting ways to bring STEM activities to child care settings. Participants will receive 6 hours of credit towards the Continuing Education Unites in the LEC Core Knowledge Categories in the Preschool age group. You’ll walk away with the tools to bring STEM learning into any activity.

Become a STEM Community Trainer or Master Trainer:

Join ELWC in our mission to bring STEM into the lives of young children. This cohort is for early educators who are multilingual and/or BIPOC. We will demystify delivery of STEM for zero to five-year-olds, with a focus on preschoolers. Building Confidence and Experience as a STEM Educator and Trainer is a cohort designed to give you the tools to facilitate and create STEM workshops for fellow early educators.

If you are looking to become a Community Trainer or Master trainer, this cohort will help you navigate Oregon State requirements and provide additional workshops to help you become a better facilitator.  If you are already a Master Trainer, join our cohort to learn how to introduce STEM content earlier in children’s lives by teaching other early educators’ methods that are fun and accessible.

This cohort opportunity is offered annually.  Applications for 2024 will be launching soon.

Robotics in publicly funded programs:

ELWC is thrilled to introduce exciting STEAM activities to Preschool Promise classrooms, with a focus on early coding and robotics in 2024. Our past projects, including dinosaur studies, paleontology activities, and volcano experiments, have enriched learning experiences. By crafting these moments for children, we aim to plant the seeds of STEM curiosity in their minds, laying a solid foundation for future exploration and discovery. ELWC will recruit up to 40 providers, 20 in English and 20 in Spanish to participate in a 7 hours training to learn more about coding/robotics for preschoolers.
