Apply Now: Grant Opportunity for Coding and Robotics Coaching for Preschool Educators
Introduction:
The Early Learning Washington County HUB is pleased to announce a grant opportunity designed to enhance early childhood education by integrating coding and robotics within preschool classrooms. We are seeking a dedicated individual or organization to deliver hands-on coaching and technical support—both in-person and online—in English and Spanish—to a maximum of 35 preschool educators who participated in our 2024 Coding and Robotics training workshop.
With a total grant allocation of $11,000, the Early Learning Washington County HUB invites proposals that outline plans to deliver tailored coaching in both English and Spanish. This support will empower the selected educators to integrate innovative STEM learning experiences into their classrooms, making a tangible difference in how young children experience technology.
Implementation Timeline:
This project is designed to support preschool educators in integrating coding and robotics into their programs, and it will follow a tentative implementation timeline from November 25, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this grant opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The applicant must demonstrate a strong background in early childhood education, including relevant degrees or certifications, and have significant experience in instructional design, workshop facilitation, and providing coaching or technical assistance to educators.
- The applicant must show proficiency in creating and implementing developmentally appropriate coding and robotics activities tailored for preschool-aged children, ensuring that activities align with early learning standards
- Experience implementing coding/robotics initiatives in preschool classrooms, particularly with Bee-Bots and Sphero Indi robots.
- The applicant must provide evidence of their capacity to effectively implement and evaluate the proposed project.
- The applicant must be able to provide coaching/technical assistance in English and Spanish.
